Donation to High School library in Knin

 Knin, 20 April 2010 – Upon the initiative of Nordic Chamber of Commerce, the proceeds collected at Midsummer Celebration-humanitarian cause event organized in June 2009, were donated to the library of Knin high schools: SŠ kralja Zvonimira and SŠ Lovro Monti. The donation included IT equipment and books that are part of the school curriculum and were handed over by Mrs. Gordana Fuštar, Executive Director of Nordic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Wilfried Buchhorn, UNHCR Representative to Croatia and Mrs. Rebecca Söderberg, envoy of the Embassy of Sweden. The purpose of the donation was to modernize the library which was recognized as the starting point for education of the young generations in the wider Knin area. Nordic Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Croatian Society of Lobbyists organized Busines breakfast on Effective Government Relations and Ways to Influence Decisions in Croatia that took place on Wednesday, 14 April 2010 at the Regent Esplanade Zagreb.
The guest speaker was Mr. Natko Vlahović, Secretary General, Croatian Society of Lobbyists and Accredited Lobbyist at the European Parliament for the Croatian Chamber of Craft Enterprises.  The event was well attended and after the presentation an interesting discussion followed.

ABB strengthens capabilities in Balkans with EXOR acquisition

30 March 2010 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has agreed to acquire a large portion of the business of EXOR, an engineering company headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia, for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction is expected to be completed in April, subject to customary regulatory approvals.The acquisition increases ABB’s offering and engineering capabilities in the growing Balkan region. Moreover, this transaction will enable ABB to further increase business activities in process automation, providing complete solutions for various industrial applications.
