Norway leads in oil and gas exploration

No other country has discovered as much oil and gas reserves as Norway so far this year. In total, over the past three years, Norway has been surpassed by only Brazil and the US.This is shown by a new survey made by analysts Rystad Energy, quoted by newspapers Stavanger Aftenblad and Aftenposten.

So far this year, Norway has discovered new oil and gas reserves worth NOK 1,400 billion, which means that Norway tops the list, ahead of oil nations like Iraq, Iran, Brazil, the US and Russia.

The main reason for this is the latest, double discovery Avaldsnes and Aldous South in an area of the North Sea which had long been considered depleted.
