Finland's Neste fires up Europe's largest biodiesel refinery

Finland's Neste Oil stated in a recent statement that the company started the world's largest renewable fuel facility in Rotterdam in the Netherlands."The start-up is a significant milestone in Neste Oil's cleaner traffic strategy and consolidates the company's position as the world's leading producer of renewable diesel," the statement added.
With an output of some 800,000 tonnes a year and a workforce of about 150 people, the refinery can use most kinds of vegetable oils and waste fats as feedstock.
The government-controlled company said the Rotterdam refinery would raise Neste's total biodiesel output to about two million tonnes a year, with one refinery in Singapore and two in Porvoo in Finland.
