Statoil biggest in the Nordic region

Sweden has 18 of the 40 largest companies in the Nordic countries but Norway, Finland and Denmark hold the top 3 positions. Largestcompanies.com listed 40 biggest companies among five Nordic countries.The business information company Largestcompanies.com has listed the 40 biggest companies among the five Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Sweden has 18 companies on the list, Norway has eight and Denmark and Finland have seven each.
The 40 biggest companies in the Nordic countries have a total turnover of 535 billion euro in 2010. This is an increase with 12 percent compared 2009. The total revenue of 65 billion euro represents an increase with 95 (!) percent while the number of employees has only increased with 2.5 percent. This indicates a strong process of potentiation.
The Norwegian oil giant Statoil was the biggest company by turnover within the Nordic countries in 2010. It had a turnover of 67.8 billion euro in 2010. The Finnish mobile phone producer Nokia is on second place and the Danish shipping company A.P. Møller-Mærsk is on third place.
In the internal Swedish league, the electricity producer Vattenfall has climbed past Ericsson and is now Sweden's second largest company by turnover. Volvo is the largest.
