Cargotec establishes its own competence centre in Singapore

Cargotec is to set up a global competence centre for container terminals development in Singapore. From the centre the company will serve its customers in the Asia-Pacific region.

-In order to better understand customer needs, Cargotec needs an extensive geographic presence and tight collaboration with local customers, and other partners, explains Cargotec’s CEO Mikael Mäkinen.
- Singapore is one of the world's largest ports and it offers a unique view of future trends and customer requirements which can be used in our product development.

Cargotec has been present in Singapore more than 30 years. The Asia-Pacific region in 2010 accounted for some 40 percent of the company’s turnover. Cargotec’s Asian production units are in China, India, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore and its brands are Hiab, Kalmar, MacGregor and Bromma.
